DOG TRAINING
Dog Training Based on scientific Research
Muddy Paws' dog training classes are run by our resident Animal Behaviourist who is studying for a Masters Degree in Clinical Animal Behaviour at the University at Lincoln, which is recognised globally for it's animal behaviour school.
You can be confident the training you and your dog receive has a scientific backing and is based on the latest research in ethical and positive ways to work with your dog.
Only Positive Reinforcement
Our classes do not use check chains, choke chains or any forceful methods. Our aim is to help you create a positive bond with your dog who feels secure and confident with their owner.
Why Dog Training is Important
Training your dog is important in helping to create a bond between you and your dog. It's a great way to channel any excess energy which can cause boisterous or destructive behaviour (we're meaning your dog, of course, but it can be good gentle exercise for you too!)
Our classes show you how to control your dog using positive methods, without using force. Training will also help increase your dog's sociability and improves communication between you and your dog.
Our training courses are kept small to just 6 people per class so you and your dog get maximum benefit.

Grooming Training Sessions for Nervous Dogs
We see a lot of dogs in our grooming room that are nervous of the grooming process, or dislike a particular aspect of grooming. It doesn't have to be like this and we have the experience to help your dog learn to enjoy the process. The team here are all dog lovers and we want your dog to have a positive experience when being groomed. We offer training sessions within the grooming room to get your dog used to the equipment.
Depending on your dog's level of discomfort or fear we offer a session with our Animal Behaviourist to help positively condition your dog to the equipment and the processes within the grooming room. If your dog just dislikes one aspect, such as nail trimming, we will work with them on this and come up with a simple training plan for you to do at home to help.
If you are interested in this service just let us know and we can provide you with more information.
